Aquamarine's name is derived from aqua and marine, meaning water and the sea respectively, due to its stunning blue hues. The stone was often used by sailors to protect them from rough seas and to calm their minds. Since then, aquamarine has been gifted to brides at weddings as it is said to symbolise unity and love (Diamond is approximately 0.05ct and Aquamarine is 0.25ct).
