International Women's Day

As a female-founded and female-only company, we are proud to celebrate this International Women’s Day. A day that marks the achievements of women across the globe and emphasises the importance of equality and women’s rights, there is no better day to shout out our incredible team of strong, hard-working women, and champion other women too.

This year, to celebrate International Women’s Day, we are spotlighting our partnership with Watches of Switzerland and the  Change A Girl’s Life campaign. In the month of March, Kiki McDonough will be donating 5% of all sales made by the Watches of Switzerland Group across Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths stores to this important campaign. Aiming to raise vital funds to give young women a working future through training courses with potential employers, access to job opportunities, and skills to start a business, this campaign will empower women and provide them with valuable opportunities that will allow them to thrive. 

Kiki is no stranger to the important work carried out by the King’s Trust. Having been a mentor there for nearly 8 years for five individuals, she has helped them set strong foundations for their businesses by instilling structure and establishing clear parameters in the early stages. She is currently mentoring a woman who is just starting her journey in launching her own business in women’s accessories. Kiki offers invaluable guidance on various aspects of starting a business, from building a website to wholesale strategies, and advises her mentee on how to allocate initial investments wisely.  

For Kiki, this mentoring process is a reflective one, as she rarely has time to look back on her own 40-year-long business journey. It allows her to think about the lessons and mistakes she’s learned along the way and pass them on to the young people she mentors. Above all, Kiki values the opportunity to support and empower other women entrepreneurs, believing that supporting women is key to creating a more inclusive business landscape.

This International Women’s Day, we are proud to acknowledge and support the outstanding achievements of women everywhere who continue to motivate and inspire us.
